A solar photovoltaic electricity generating system adds value to a home.  Ask clients how much not having an electric bill would be worth to them when buying a home.  Very often the value added is higher than the cost of the entire system after considering the state rebates and federal tax credits.  Increased home value estimates for a home with a solar photovoltaic system are often estimated between 20 times the annual savings on electric bills to $20,000 per kilowatt installed.  This can be a very substantial increase in home value!
